Trump Jumping Onto The Anti-Lockdown Bandwagon Won’t Fool Conservatives Who Loathe Him

By Dave Levine

By now, you’re either a Trumpster or you hate the s.o.b. There IS no “in between” or “fence-sitting” with Trump.

The Democrats have one thing going for them even though their nominee-to-be (Biden) is too old, has Alzheimer’s and is an unconvicted groper–Donald Trump. The antipathy towards Trump (and to a lesser extent, his daughter and idiot son-in-law, Javanka) is overwhelming. The last time I saw such anger towards a Republican was when Pappa Bush ran against Bill Clinton.

Trump will undoubtedly have stock market folks in his pocket, but there is palpable anger out there for Trump who has acted like a child having a tantrum and has done some pretty awful things (releasing 4,000 federal inmates, telling ICE to “stand down” during the pandemic and signing the Coronavirus Stimulus bill). He’s told us stupid things like, “Be calm! It will go away!”

Today and for the past few days, Trump has jumped on the Anti-Lockdown bandwagon when he was leading the lockdown charge. When he saw his minions protesting against left-wing, overreaching Governors, he joined in the protest. However, this won’t ingratiate himself to Conservatives who loathe him. Three-plus years of Trump are enough!

This Election will be the “Anyone But Trump” election. It won’t matter “who” the opponent is. For many Conservatives, it will be 2008, 2012 and 2018 all over again–they’ll stay home. While it won’t matter if Conservative voters stay home in winner-take-all California, it will matter in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
