This has been a problem going back decades. The fault lies, in my opinion, mostly with the Indians. Why? Pride and racism towards whites which is rampant. Protecting the homeland of the U.S. is not their problem.
The Tribe has its reservation along 75 miles of the U.S.-Mexico Border covering 4,340 square miles of land into Arizona. The “fence” is very low and easily to jump or climb over unlike the fence along Glenn Spencer’s Border land (18 feet) in Sierra Vista, AZ.
Because the BP cannot guard all 75 miles of the Tohono-Mexico Border with thousands of agents (the Tribe would never allow it), they have to be happy with the little access and agents they have there. As a result, a tremendous amount of drug mule and human smuggling occurs along these 75 miles.
The Tribe for their part don’t seem to be too concerned with the Invasion from Mexico in spite of the drugs brought in by the Mexicans that are destroying Indian lives. The last report I saw showed they have just 70 Indian police (U.S. police are not allowed on their land except the BP along the Border) to cover 4,340 square miles of land.
