The 2016 Animal Protection Laws Rankings Are Out Over At Animal Legal Defense Fund: Some Impressive Improvements Nationwide With 8 States Still Having ‘Ag Gag’ Laws

The above is my version of title by Animal Legal Defense Fund.

Wow! What a terrific report!

Improvements have been made and are being made to laws in the top 5 states: IL, OR, ME, CA and RI.

The bottom worst 5 states need to get BigAg out of the picture AND PROTECT THE ANIMALS: #50 KY, IA, WY, UT and ND.

Ag Gag laws?

8 states have laws against whistleblowing of farmers mistreating livestock and other animals. Why are farmers exempt from the criminal mistreatment of animals? One word: BigAg.

The 8 farmer-abuser-protecting states are: AR, IA, KS, MO, MT, NC, ND and UT. Shame on these states!

Even KY–the worst state for weak animal abuse laws–got rid of its Ag Gag law!
