Should Animal Abuse Be Considered ‘A Violent Crime’?

An excellent article by Elizabeth Buff on why we should increase penalties (misdemeanors to felonies) for animal abuse!

Why isn’t it already a felony and prosecuted to the full extent of the law? Because animals are still considered “property”. Violent crimes can only be made by people against other people. The torturing and abuse (hoarding) of animals and pets should be felonies in all 50 states.
