Rep. Dave Brat: Democrats Must Support E-Verify If Serious About Immigration Reform

I want to applaud Rep. Brat for bringing this issue up now. E-verify has been forgotten about.

Here’s what I posted on Breitbart in comments under this story:

E-verify–mandatory E-verify–has been put on the back burner and forgotten about, probably due to the influence of the Chamber. HR 1147 may still be “on file”, I don’t know. It was Rep. Lamar Smith’s latest version of the National Mandatory E-verify bill that Boehner wouldn’t allow to get to the House floor and apparently “dittos” for Ryan. In it’s last version, HR 1147 would leave 1070 laws alone. However, it had some pro-Chamber aspects–like giving many employers 3 years before they had to use it, etc. BRING BACK HR 1147!
