Rep. Dave Brat Berates Leftist Opponent Abigail Spanberger For Wanting To Break Up ICE But Won’t Explain To His Conservative Voters Why He Voted For The Gang Of Four Amnesty Bill HR 4760, A Move That Stabbed Those Supporters In The Back And Nearly Passed The House
By Dave Levine
I used to support Rep. Dave Brat but when he, Rep. Walter B. Jones, Rep. Daniel Webster and a few other Conservative House members voted for The Gang of Four Amnesty bill HR 4760, I withdrew that support. These congressmen were willing to give Amnesty to at least 1.8 million DACA illegal aliens for some enforcement and mandatory E-verify instead of insisting on a separate enforcement bill or bills without Amnesty. Rep. Brat RAN AND WAS ELECTED ON AN ANTI-AMNESTY PLATFORM! He broke his word. His colleagues Rep. Steve King, Rep. Paul Gosar and Rep. Andy Biggs KEPT THEIR WORD and voted against The Gang of Four Amnesty bill! That bill lost by 20 votes.
Voting for the lesser of two evils brought us 8 years of G.W. Bush, two wars that seemed to never end (one still hasn’t), anti-constitutional “nation building”, multiple recessions that cost millions of jobs and brought us The Do Nothing Congress led by a serial child molester named Dennis Hastert. That’s why in 2008, many Conservative voters stayed home rather than vote for “McNasty”–Conservative-hater and champion of Amnesty, John McCain. And that’s why in 2012, most Conservative voters stayed home rather than vote for “I’ll do it–first year!” Romney, a longtime champion of Mike Pence’s “touchback” Amnesty.
While Rep. Brat is certainly a better choice for Congress than a leftist, there’s a thing called “keeping your word” that means everything to voters. And since Rep. Brat voted once for Amnesty, he’ll do so again when it comes up for a vote next year. HR 4760 will once again rear its ugly head and Rep. Brat will support it.
I don’t live in Virginia but if I did and I lived in his district, I would stay home on November 6th.
Keeping one’s word on an issue so vital to the nation like stopping Amnesty for lawbreakers means everything to me as it does to other Conservative voters.
Apparently, it didn’t–and doesn’t–mean much to Rep. Dave Brat.
