Pat Buchanan Congratulates Trump On Working With Dems, Demanding Amnesty Bill From Congress
By Dave Levine
Many years ago, I voted for Pat Buchanan for President. He was tough on illegal immigration and wanted a moratorium on legal immigration back in ’92 and ’96.
Somewhere along the way, possibly due to senility, Buchanan–who Conservatives seem to forget endorsed the liberal pro-touchback Amnesty RINO Mitt Romney for President in 2012–lost it. The once-paleoconservative who was highly respected by Conservatives is now a shell of his former self.
It’s sad to see what he wrote today at WND. He applauded Trump for working with Pelosi and Schumer. He likes the fact that Trump wiped out the “debt ceiling” so that Congress (and thru it, Trump) can spend, spend, spend!
“Donald Trump is president today because he was seen as a doer not a talker. Among the most common compliments paid him in 2016 was, “At least he gets things done!””
“Having cut a deal with Democrats for help with the debt ceiling, will Trump seek a deal with Democrats on amnesty for the “Dreamers,” in return for funding for border security? Trump seemed to be signaling receptivity to the idea this week.”
Yeh, that Trump “is a doer”, alright! He lied thru his teeth throughout the campaign about rescinding DACA (he hasn’t rescinded it–he’s kicked it down the RINO road), he lied about “deporting all illegals”, he’s lied about so much there isn’t enough space here to discuss it. Hitler and Stalin were “doers”, too! “Doing” isn’t always a good thing!
What Buchanan failed to mention is the fact that Trump demanded an Amnesty bill FROM REPUBLICANS, not from Democrats and that doing so stabbed those who elected him, his base, in the back. He’s probably lost half his support from the right. Buchanan seems to pooh-pooh The DREAM Act Amnesty which is very likely to end up on Trump’s desk and which he will sign.
Buchanan seems to actually like Trump’s violent move to the left. It makes no sense to this Conservative and probably to other Conservatives.
But that’s what senility and feeblemindedness can do to someone. Pat Buchanan is a has-been. He came, he went and then he turned into a cheerleader for a despicable politician, for the left and for Amnesty–and for that, the destruction of our nation.
It’s really pathetic to see.
