Oh, Really? Breitbart Reporter Warner Todd Huston Writes ‘Just As The Nation Tries To Come To Terms With [Kobe Bryant’s] Death’
By Dave Levine
Is the nation really in mourning over Kobe Bryant’s death? I don’t think so but don’t tell Warner Todd Huston that! Huston is BB’s law-and-order reporter and a good one. However, I don’t believe Bryant’s death was earth-shaking and I don’t believe the nation is in mourning!
What I DO know is the MSM is playing up the copter crash as if Bryant was a god or the President. Bryant was an overpaid professional basketball player who settled a longstanding rape civil suit by paying off his female accuser. To some Americans, apparently, he was bigger than life–a god, a saint, the Second Coming. But to millions of other Americans, he was just another overpaid athlete.
Regarding the other 8 persons who were killed in that copter crash, I feel for their families. I lost an uncle in that horrific June 1968 Sikorsky crash in Southern California. The blades of that copter came off and cut it in half. No one ever told me they were sorry my uncle (a very successful businessman who was buying and selling companies on the stock exchange) and 22 others perished. Anyone with half a brain knows that helicopters are death traps. So before riding in one, folks should be told the truth about them and, if possible, people should avoid flying in fog.
Responsibility-wise, it should be remembered that Bryant OWNED that aircraft and was thus responsible for its upkeep and for his pilot’s actions.
The nation may in fact “mourn” Bryant’s death but I think it’s mostly a big play-up being driven by the MSM for ratings.
