McCaffrey Opting Not To Play For Stanford In Sun Bowl Hurts Spirit Of Game

A terrific piece by Dennis Miller on McCaffrey! I agree 100%.

There are those out there who think that college is simply “a combine” for the NFL. They don’t see anything wrong with collegiate athletes leaving college after their junior years for the pros. To them, college is something to jettison like a stage of a rocket when it’s “served its purpose”.

I’m sorry to inform those idiots that college is not and should never BE “a combine”, a mill for a few athletes to make “the big bucks” as pro athletes. It is my view that the NFL should end its practice of “stealing” junior classmen out of college by dangling big, juicy contracts in their faces. In the old days, an athlete had to attend college and graduate before being allowed into the pros.

The NFL should return to that policy. Graduate from college and make all the money you can BUT YOU MUST FINISH SCHOOL FIRST!
