Last Sunday: Many Puerto Ricans Abstain From Vote, While Less Than Half Of Those Who Voted For Statehood In 2012 Voted For It Sunday
The above is my version of title by Danica Cotto at the AP.
400,000 Puerto Ricans voted for statehood Sunday. 834,000 voted for statehood in 2012. That’s quite a drop-off. Hundreds of thousands of Puerto Ricans abstained from voting Sunday. That is hardly “a mandate” for statehood!
Their Socialist Governor Rossello “demands” statehood yet refuses to ask if Americans want another state–a poor, Spanish-only speaking welfare state that is so corrupt, it’s $123 billion in debt! I don’t think so!
Do Americans want to add a failed welfare-Socialist state to the Union? I don’t think so!
Any positive move by Ryan & Co towards adding Puerto Rico to statehood will mean “the death knell for the GOP”. The Republican Party is going to take a thumping next year as we can expect them to try pushing Amnesty down our throats very soon (There are already two DACA Amnesty bills in Congress).
