Krikorian Gives Trump A “B” On Immigration In Spite Of Broken Promise On DACA Amnesty And Continuing ‘Catch And Release”
The above is my version of title by Paul Bremmer at WND.
I wrote the following in Comments at WND regarding Mark Krikorian’s comments in the above article:
“I’d give him a C+. Leaving DACA in place cost him many Conservative supporters. Leaving “Catch and Release” in place is another big negative. Also, moving Obama holdover Thomas Homan to Acting ICE Director was, I believe, a mistake as tough as he sounds. He oversaw the RELEASE of thousands of dangerous illegal alien criminals under Obama. Another Obama holdover remains at DHS (can’t recall his name). Making like he’s going to fire AG Sessions is another bad move.
Krikorian–who is, btw, pro-Amnesty once the Border is “secured”–didn’t mention the Amnesty moves in the House (Rep. Royball-Allard and Rep. Ros Lehtinen) and Senate (Sen. Graham and Sen. Dick Durbin). Their DREAM Acts could easily “morph” into General Amnesty bills.”
Trump leaving DACA alone has given the pro-Amnesty folks hope. If he would simply come out and state, “I will NEVER sign an Amnesty bill!”, these Congress critters would be less interested in planning Amnesty legislation. But Trump has not done that and it’s pretty clear (from leaving DACA Amnesty alone) that he won’t.
