Kansas City, Kansas Roofer Sentenced To Prison For 1 Year, 2 Others Sentenced To Probation, Company To Pay $2 Million In Fines For Hiring Illegals

Kudos to U.S. Attorney Tom Beall and Assistant U.S. Attorney Brent Anderson for a job well done! The roofer is Timothy Keaton, 71.

More prosecutions like this would be happening but for that one word in Immigration law that forces prosecutors to prove “intent”–the word “knowingly”. It’s difficult to prove intent in these cases. Perhaps this case’s results will “open things up” for more such prosecutions.
