How Left-Wing Celebs Get Away With Attempted Murder: The 1960 Double Stabbing Of His Wife By Norman Mailer
By Dave Levine
I was but 10 when on November 9, 1960, Norman Mailer got away with the attempted murder of his wife, actress Adele Morales. I recall seeing Norman Mailer on talk shows in his later life and I remember distinctly not liking the man. Of course, back then, I didn’t realize that I was really a Conservative inside!
The Mailer stabbing ended with what I call “New York justice”–with a slap on the wrist. While Adele Morales refused to testify against her husband, prosecutors still could have convicted Mailer. They chickened out.
Hollywood and media liberals got behind Mailer and defended him.
Here’s what Wiki says about the case:
Though Morales divorced him in 1962, she refused to press charges, citing a desire to protect their children. Mailer was indicted by a grand jury on charges of felony assault, but after pleading guilty to a reduced charge received probation and later a suspended sentence.
Now that’s what I call “New York justice”!
It’s historical facts like this–criminals getting away with serious crimes–that motivated me to devote my talk show to “law and order” stories and commentary.
The bottom line? NO ONE is above the law!
