From Euni Smith And Anne Schlafly Cori, President And Chairman Of Eagle Forum, Respectively, On March 8, 2017: Ed Martin, John Schlafly, Andy Schlafly And Kathleen Sullivan Out As Directors And/Or Officers Of Eagle Forum

By Dave Levine from what I found on the Eagle Forum website. The link to the statement by President Euni Smith and Chairman Anne Schlafly Cori as Officers and Directors at Eagle Forum is here.

My apologies for being so late in posting this but I only just found out about it when I perused the Eagle Forum site this afternoon.

The reason this is important, I believe, is because before she died, Phyllis Schlafly made what I considered to be a huge mistake, giving the directorship of Eagle Forum–her longtime Conservative Republican org–to Ed Martin, an attorney and pro-Amnesty Republican very prominent in St. Louis politics who ran against my friend John Wayne Tucker for Congress. I remember writing a column on this.

From what I read about it at the time, many of the Board of Directors including Mrs. Schlafly’s children opposed Martin and tried to remove him. Finally, they succeeded.

President Smith and Anne Schlafly Cori report,

“On October 20, 2016, the Circuit Court of Madison County, Illinois issued an Order suspending John Schlafly and Ed Martin from their roles as officers of Eagle Forum and ordered them to cease conducting business on behalf of Eagle Forum.”

“Then on January 28, 2017, a lawfully convened meeting of the Eagle Forum Board of Directors voted to remove Ed Martin, John Schlafly, Andy Schlafly and Kathleen Sullivan as directors and/or officers of Eagle Forum.”

Ed Martin is finally “out” at Eagle Forum but he immediately formed Phyllis Schlafly’s Eagles. Eagle Forum is apparently suing to stop them. I’ll report on this as it comes down.

Kudos to Euni Smith, Anne Schlafly Cori and other Board members at Eagle Forum for their actions in saving Eagle Forum!
