Florida Governor DeSantis’ Partial Reopening: Hair Salons Cannot Reopen…Why?

By Dave Levine

Heather Crawford’s report on the dilemma of Florida’s hair stylists and salon owners seems to indicate why Governor DeSantis won’t allow them to reopen–the fact that there’s no way to style someone’s hair at a distance of 6 feet!

What does DeSantis propose doing? Wait until “the twelfth of never” to reopen salons? What if both stylists and their customers wear masks? That’s what my hair stylist here in Occupied Northern California and I do (We meet clandestinely at a closed salon owned by a friend of hers as a favor to my stylist)! She wears a mask and styles my hair without my ever taking my mask off!

Since hair stylists cannot work on a customer’s hair from 6 feet away, does DeSantis propose shuttering all hair salons forever?

Inquiring minds want to know!
