Daniel Horowitz Claims He’s ‘The Only One’ To Label Then-Judge Neil Gorsuch ‘A Closet Liberal’ But I Did Just That Back When His Name First Appeared As A Possible SCOTUS Pick

By Dave Levine

I don’t mind the great Daniel Horowitz beating his chest in his podcasts about “being on top of” issues ahead of other Conservatives because he often is and he deserves our praise. However, Horowitz WASN’T ahead of me in stating that “Gorsuch was no Conservative” at the time Judge Gorsuch was under consideration as a SCOTUS nominee!

I looked into Gorsuch’s decisions and read articles about him from a number of writers and it was clear to me–and I talked about this on my radio talk show and wrote about it on my blog–that Gorsuch was likely “another Souter”. I remember writing that Gorsuch’s wife is very liberal and that is always a bad sign for a potential SCOTUS nominee.

Horowitz may not consider me to be “a fellow Conservative” but I am. I’ve had my law-and-order talk show since 2008 and I’ve been an Independent Conservative since leaving the GOP during the 1996 presidential campaign. I was one of two persons to report (along with fellow Conservative Tom Amato at Diggers Realm) that John McCain and Sarah Palin had pushed for Amnesty appearing on UNIVISION and in Spanish (meant for snaring some of the illegal vote) just weeks before the 2008 Election.

Sadly, Justice Gorsuch has proven us right.
