Another Cat Hoarding Case in New York, This One In Putnam County, ‘Concentration Camp’-Like Conditions 61 Living, 9 Found Dead, Cannabalized, Owner In Hospital Will Be Charged, House Will Have To Be Torn Down
The above is my version of title by Christopher Eberhart at The Westchester County News Journal.
I do not tolerate cat hoarders and neither should the nation as a whole. As I’ve written here recently, New York State is #40 out of 50 states–in the lower tier in terms of weak laws. What this person did to these animals should be felony, not a misdemeanor. By the way, MALICIOUS ANIMAL ABUSE IS A FELONY in all 50 states! The difficulty is in proving “intent”.
While I certainly can appreciate “people’s privacy”, these questions arise: Where was Putnam County? Why did it take so long to expose and stop this torture and other abuse of these cats?
Pet hoarding needs to be taken seriously and shut down! These animals are innocent creatures who depend on us. The only way to shut it down is to STOP the plea bargaining and hand out felonies to those who commit it.
